Do you think this word is offensive, yes or no? Feel free to explain your opinion, logically.

I see nothing wrong with the word and think it should be used openly in any part of the world without repercussion. Being offended by the word only gives it power.

The double standard that African Americans can use the word freely, but anyone of any other race (especially Caucasian) can not truly bothers me. There should either be no exceptions, or no retaliation. Both would be nice.

Lastly, I find it ironic that when I call someone a ******, most immediately claim me to be racist. Thus proving they truly do fit the definition of a ******. The irony in that amuses me.

Thoughts?

I'm confident it was pretty offensive and hurtful back during slavery, but now it's a became a friendly term for African Americans( Note: I didn't just use the n-word :3) to call each other, although, not for those of different race to use freely. I don't use the word nor do I think it should be even used in a friendly manner, because of it's origins.

Well you see, it isnt censored. It actually changes the word to african american which in turn is saying they are one in the same thing. Whoever did that is fucking stupid, because that is more offensive than allowing the word to be typed in the first place.


@Shot, agreed. -A/-Er is the same thing. They are both equally unoffensive.
