Hi all,
I have recently been busy developing a MyBB NewPoints betting plugin which enables users to bet one-another (P2P) by playing a game of rock-paper-scissors. This plugin is fully stable and works well as it has been tested thoroughly by myself and my forum's users. There are a couple of betting systems out there already but my version allows users to decide their own fate!
Here's how it works:
- Jordan sends a 5 credit bet to Demo (Jordan picks rock)
- Demo accepts and chooses paper
- Demo wins a total profit of 5 credits
- Private messages are sent to both users notifying them of win/loss
In the case of a draw, both users are refunded and according PMs sent out. There's no need to worry about validation as I have that sorted i.e. users can't send bets to users who don't exist, send bets they can't afford and so forth.
We have a betting (RPS) page under the NewPoints system with a basic UI that enables users to instantiate bets, view their recent bets and pending bets (which they can cancel) as well as some statistics as follows:
- Games played
- Profit
- Total wagered
- Wins
- Loses
- Draws
Not only that, but we have some settings in the admin control panel which gives the forum admin some control:
- Ignored usergroups (users who shouldn't access this page e.g. VIP only)
- Minimum amount of points each bet must be
