A Scientific Mind vs. A Religious Mind

I don't understand how you have the audacity to sit there and tell me evolution is wrong when you have blatantly never seen the evidence nor have a clue what evolution says.

Your point makes absolutely no sense at all, I'm not even exaggerating in the slightest. Humans and monkeys used to share a common ancestor, then they branched and evolved differently. Just like how America used to be apart of England, then they branched and evolved differently.

Personal evidence derives from all faiths, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, etc. yet you sit here and claim the personal evidence from yours and yours only shows valid evidence of your god and your god only. That's incredibly audacious and unwise of you if you ask me. Especially, seeing how you have literally nothing to back that claim up, whilst every Muslim, Hindu, Judaist with personal evidence claims the precise same thing as you!

It's not only because we look like them. Our DNA is nearly identical to that of an ape's.

Thank you for stating this "nearly" which supports the idea of Evolution just being a theory, not a sure thing.

You're making an equivocation fallacy. A scientific theory and a regular theory differ greatly. If an error is found in a scientific theory, its validity is discarded completely, (unlike religious doctrine, I might add).

Apologies I could not reply as I fell asleep. @Leader

Unfalsifiable by your standards? It is not all 'religious mumbo-jumbo', it means something to me and means something to all believers. I can tell you that absolute truth is not an illusion and your claims are exactly why. You're absolutely 100% certain about Evolution being factual, correct? I am 100% certain about God being evident. The reason I believe in him is because of personal experiences and how he has spoken to me but I cannot state that as you will all call it fallacious. He speaks to me, he may not speak to you and I know by my faith I am saved.

Code:
Yes, but everything you know has been predetermined in a religious book. Everything that you ever learn or discover will have to somehow fit in to that predetermined concept that you have.

Yes, correct. Everything is predetermined. He knows the next word I'm going to say, and the last. Our name were written in the book of life before any of us were created. This is all correct, everything I do discover will fit into the 'predetermined concept' I and millions other have.

Code:
There are the few in the bunch that do look at the evidence and contort it to fit with your hypothesis, and that's fine. I had to explain to my entire religion class what evolution was, because many of them didn't understand it. I actually got some deeply religious to start questioning their faith.

By all means, attempt to make me question my faith. I will listen to you. I know deep down in my heart what is right and I know that anything is possible with God. I do understand what Evolution is and it's not just being evolved from a bunch of "monkeys". I know pros and cons from both sides, mate. No one can change my love for the big man above.

The point I'm trying to make here is that there is no possible way I could get you to change your mind about god, which is sickening. To you, it is absolute and there is no changing it. There is no point in attempting to show you evidence, because it won't matter. Your god is absolute and 100% true, which is not a smart way to go through life.

Scientists aren't too open minded considering they want to rule out the possibility of religion being true. In reality, science hasn't even reached the surface of any information to consider themselves knowledgable in this area, and honestly, probably never will.

They are always open to it. If they weren't, they wouldn't test miracles, they would test prayer, etc.

What if I wanted you to change your mind about Evolution? "To you, it is absolute truth and there is no changing it".

This, too, can't really be proven.
My point is, it's ignorant for anyone to believe one way or the other. Science will never be able to grasp this concept. Religion will never be proven or disproven.

If there was evidence against evolution, that would change my mind. I would need solid evidence that disproves evolution, or solid evidence of biblical creation. That's the difference between science and religion.

I'd rather go through life with some sort of hope rather than the understanding I'm useless and I'll die, the end. I wouldn't say it's a bad way to go through life.

As I've said, you're right. How do you plan to change his mind without this evidence?

This is why many believers have personal evidence. How are we to prove doings that have happened to us, to you? We can't, that's the bad part of it all. We cannot share what has happened to us spiritually to you because to you, or any other atheist it would be as you said: "Religious mumbo-jumbo". This is why you think Evolution is correct, because you apparently have substantive evidence.

There are mounds of evidence for evolution. On the other hand, I have yet to see any solid evidence for creation, god, prayer, etc.

You have yet to see any evidence for creation because you simply do not believe. I was an Atheist and all my prayers were answered, I have been healed, but none of this matters to you why? Because you simply will not believe me.

Evidence shouldn't be something that you have to believe in. In fact, that's the exact definition.

Evidence: the available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief or proposition is true or valid.

If I have to believe in it, or take a leap of faith, it's not evidence.

I'm a Christian not a hardcore one but i rule with @Leader on this. Science proves things while a bible cannot actually prove anything. The Bible is all words that no one not anyone can prove ever happened. Show us proof of god. Show us proof of the Devil, show us Proof of EVERYTHING in the bible that so called said happened. Science tries to prove they look into. They don't just make a random thesis on something they read they try to prove it. Like evolution they looked at it compared us and actually came to be that we are close relative to apes. Until someone can prove that everything in the bible happened it is just a book of myths.
