I think that we should have the ability to close or lock threads, so that when we don't want people posting in the thread anymore, or just want it to be there for reference, we can close it instead of deleting it.
Opinions?

I've had bad experience with this before on my forums. It's best to get a Moderator to lock it. Just request a close/lock through the report button.

What are your bad experiences? You are able to on Hackforums when you are an upgraded member, and I don't see problems.

That What judgement told me to not have Hf in a name or H*** *****.net :p
It was a suggestion. It has nothing to do with HF, besides me referencing to it because that is where I remember it from. I am pretty sure other forums have this ability also.

They'll remove any evidence of a scam or hack etc and lock it..

this would just help scammers. So that the people they scam can't post on their threads. I say no for this, sorry =[

You can't edit a post after 120 minutes anyway, so unless they came here just to scam, that wouldn't be a problem. Besides, the person who got scammed must have proof against the other person so them removing anything wouldn't really matter. I am pretty sure that Judgement has all threads data somewhere, so editing a post wouldn't mean much. He can always unlock a topic.

Yeah I vote against this idea aswell, Should be left up to the mods. If someone want's their thread closed they can just report it, and a mod will take care of it.

I like the idea of being able to lock/reopen there own threads. Gives you that more sense of freedom.

And if someone scams, just make a new thread?
Thanks for your opinion. I agree with this. Now I just need to wait and see if he approves of this.

I'd prefer you guys requesting a thread-lock as opposed to being able to do it yourself. The potential to abuse this feature would be very big.
