Add a new form of contact?

I was wondering if it would be possible to add "Kik" as a method of contact under the users Profile. This would be an easier way to contact other users on the site. And no one would be dumb enough to deal off site on Kik. I would like to hear everyone else's thoughts on this. For those if you who do not know, Kik is very similar to AIM.

You are better off putting it either in your bio, or in your sig.

It would be possible, yes. I know a lot of members do use Kik, Whatsapp, Viber and whatever. It's not a suggestion actually since it's a heavily used application for most smart phones. Also not hard to implement as well.

I agree with this, but why not add it as well in the profile. It wouldn't be hard to implement and could be useful to users who are trying to contact one another.

That would be something to talk to @Philly about. He is the owner and all the ideas that you have would have to go through him. I don't think this is a bad idea to throw some more ways of contact, but then again, all contact should be made through the site itself anyway. So it is a double-edged sword

I will mention this to him, thought he would possibly see this as this is the suggestion sub form. I agree that all contact should be done through the site, but when users need to message each other quickly they could use Kik. And most users know that it is very clear that the best way to deal safely is only through PM's onsite.
