Adobe Premiere Pro

I've started my media course at college and I'm wondering if adobe premiere pro is worth buying? Or are there any other better editing softwares for cheaper? Is there a difference between CS6 and CC? Sorry for so many questions!

If you're going to choose between CS6 and CC, I'd go with CS6 for now. CC is no longer crackable with the amtlib patch, so you have to pay for it unfortunately. CS6 is a lot more reliable, and it only lacks a very minute set of features compared to CC.
