EXAMPLE API FILE LOOK LIKES BELOW
Trusted/Internal/Development Version
This is a special version of the auto generated WIM documentation. It contains everything that the public documentation contains, PLUS:
APIs that support trusted interfaces display the s parameter, where the source loginId can be provided. Use the s parameter instead of the aimsId or open auth a parameters. It is assumed the caller will handle authentication so the AIM APIs do not need to authenticate the source. Note the key used must be marked as AOL:TRUSTED = true, and the ip address blocks of the caller must be configured. Send mail to open-auth@l*****.aol.com for key configuration.
APIs that are not for public release are documented
APIs that are either still in QA or development are documented
Any text updates
Please send any questions/suggestions/updates to wim@li****.aol.com, this listserv is open to any internals to join also. The source for this documentation is available at here
Documentation
The Web AIM API lets developers incorporate core AIM functionality into any web page, including the ability to sign on, send or receive IMs, and obtain a user's Buddy List. By using the Web AIM API to build their applications, developers can take advantage of AIM's power and large user base, while having the freedom to extend AIM's functionality in innovative new ways. The APIs support both the building of real-time, interactive widgets and one-time queries. Developers can use as much or as little of the platform as they like.
