Can anyone elaborate on this method.

I understand you just had to change the cookies, but didn't know if anything else was required.

there was a browser app called "Edit That Cookie"
with it when signed into an aim, you could save the web cookies from that page.
to simply get the aim back you could sign into any aim
copy and paste the aim cookies into the edit this cookies app
refresh the page and you'd be signed into the aim youre trying to take
add number to account
go to aim.com
reset pass using mobile
