AIM or Skype?

Which one out of the two do you prefer using? Why? Do you have a certain feature you like more on one program than the other?

I prefer Skype, although I use AIM a lot more often.
I personally like the emoticons on Skype a lot better. They're better looking IMO and you also have a lot more to chose from. Of course, having the ability to call and video chat is a huge advantage. There's also the sounds when you receive an IM, have an incoming call, etc. Overall, it just feels like

I personally like AIM way better. I like the way it looks feels, and all that. I've been using it for only 5 years, since my freshman year of highschool back when the "sidekicks" phones were in style. But for me it's just personally better. I think Skype is more popular though because of the phone calls.

I like aim because it's not easy for 12 year old skids to get on a skype resolver and hit you offline with their booter...

I like AIM because it's a lot more convenient.

I like AIM way more than skype.

Skype is just unappealing to me. Also, it has shitty ass smileys and you can't just contact someone immediately. You have to add them first. -.-

I like AIM better because you can get booted much easier with an Skype username...

AIM is better for typing, Skype is better for voice.
