Android or Symbian

Guys. I have started a poll that what is the smartphone OS?

I have present two choices.
1. Android
2. Symbian

what you choose?
For me Android is the best OS for smartphones now.

Don't some of these modern SoC's have Java hardware acceleration? Also Java isn't really all that slow, depends on what your doing with it.

Finally Android announced that they will be allowing native C based code in applications so areas where Java wouldn't be so good, they can write those sections in C.

You should switch to Android, a lot more applications available on it. A lot more developer support for it at present. Firmware updates with new features appear to be pushed back to all models so probably they will be supported and updated for longer.

Well For me I would like to go with Android and I think Android is a popular operating system now and i think it is great for me with lots of options

yap u r right symbian is outdated os. Nokia will surely lose its smartphone market share if they use symbian os instead they shud use meego or windows phone 7.
And Android is the best OS now but well it doesnt support Java. But theres an emulator to do that.

I would rather vote for Android OS because it's a very resilient OS to smartphones nowadays. It's an open source OS so it means it has a wide range of applications compatability.
Although there's a higher version for symbian but still I would prefer to have Android OS to my smartphone. It's a wanna kind OS ever created.:Woot:

Android is much better in terms of usability and application diversity
Symbian is quite outdated, Secondly the face of Symbian hasn't changed much in the last decade.

I am sure Android is the best application mobile in the world today and more applications it has than any other developer. It features all the latest trends and updates too.

Moreover the operating system of the Android is best and user friendly as compared to symbian, rather best OS for me.

android is the best os out there now for smartphones and talking abt symbian nw its an outdated os as it is no more in competation even belle cant win over android.

I think people will choose android than symbian and i'm right (see the voting result). Android can add many application/game which is free and very high resolutian than symbian which only so so.
