Anonymous Hacks Syrian Ministry of Defense’s Website
Hacktivist group Anonymous took control of the Syrian Ministry of Defense website over the weekend (since brought down), posting a message addressed to Syrian citizens and links to a handful of websites protesting the actions of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian military.
Social Media Blamed in London Riots
UK press organizations are debating the role of social media following riots in the northern part of London over the weekend, which were triggered by an unexplained shooting of a man by police.
45,000 Verizon Employees On Strike
45,000 workers in Verizon’s landline division went on strike Sunday after their labor contracts expired. Verizon has assured wireless customers that service will not be disrupted.
Google Strikes Book Agreement in France
Google has signed an agreement with Hachette Livre, France’s largest book publisher, to bring tens of thousands of French-language books to the French version of its ebookstore, set to launch at the end of the year.
Apple To Release Low-Priced iMac for Education Consumers?
Apple is set to release a 21.5-inch Mac geared towards education consumers priced at less than $1000, according to 9to5Mac.
