Anyone know about cars? Help me find one!

I have been searching around for a first car, and I have found many I like. However, I am not so much into cars and what not, so I thought I would ask some other people.
I am looking for a car, truck, or SUV. Anything really... It must be a four door, unless it is a truck. Normal cab is fine, but can't afford insurance on a two door car.
The max I can spend is $22k, but a vehicle around $25k is fine considering I can talk the price down a bit.

Anyone got any suggestions?
New cars preferably by the way.

Just get a tricycle, you'll save a lot on gas and women. On the other hand, i'd go for a used lexus or bmw 328i. I'm with a camaro and I despise it. Make sure to test drive first to avoid blindspots and whatnot. My downfall.

I am trying to find a new car first, then moving down to used. ;p

Is this your first car? New cars tend to be alright but turn into a pain quickly, at least with my luck. If you're like for a truck, get a honda ridgeline, those are sick. or a nissan pathfinder, they should be in that price range.

Well, I would love a used vehicle. My dad however, works on cars for a living and thinks I should get a new* one. He said he has no problem with me getting a used car AS LONG AS it is still warranted by the dealership. So no buying "as is" cars.

if you could sign under him for the insurance, I'd go for a subaru brz. they're small and fun to drive around. otherwise I'd go for a new baseline camaro, it might fit you better than it did me. I think final price was like 27k or some shit.

22k! Just buy 6 Honda Civics with that, they are quite reliable. :)

On the real, Toyota Tundras are something to look into.

Spending any more than $10,000 on a first car is laughable. Even $10,000 is pushing it.

Toyota is probably your best bet.
Its cheap and reliable. It may not be the most fashionable or the best but it does last a long time.

I would suggest the 1997 Honda Civic Type-R but if you're looking for new cars then I'll suggest something simple like a Vauxhall Astra, they're relatively new and I'm pretty sure they're well under your price range (Maybe not their new Sporty one, heck it might even be)

Buy a used Lexus IS-300 and spend what you save on a turbo and exhaust system. New cars depreciate 40% as soon as they're driven off the lot. You can find nice cars with not a lot of miles on them if you live in a decent sized city. Then you can use the excess cash to upgrade them or fix them if there was anything wrong with them. Buying new cars is for suckers.
