Are policies against fraternization and office romances outdated?

I feel no. The home-work distortion factor. When the relationship between a small group of people moves up a notch they tend to have secrets that belong to the inner circle. If the relation is of an amorous nature, it becomes exiting to sneak a kiss or perform an action that will surely be considered sexual harassment under normal circumstances. Even though those performing these actions may believe that no one is seeing or that no one is being bothered, life near the water cooler becomes far less comfortable to everyone else.

The bye-bye factor. Not all relations last. What happens when these end? Sadly only actors are able to break up a relation (in both a movie script as well as their real lives) and remain friends. All the rest end up with a situation in which one party is bitter and can’t stand the ex. Now put them in the same office or in an organisational hierarchy of manager .[/align]
What you guys think about this matter?
