Many people have many blind beliefs or whims about many things! Some people feel that keeping certain things with them would bring success in their lives! They call these things as 'Lucky Charms'! Some people believe that sneezing just before attempting any job is a bad omen! Some people say that if a cat Crosses one's path it is an indication of some untoward happening! Thus there is a long non ending list of things which have no logic behind them to believe in them! Basically I am not a superstitious person as basically I am a science student! How about you , Do you believe in superstitions? If yes can you name any one of them? Thanks !

I am a very superstitious person. It's not like anything bad has happened when I didn't follow as told but I somehow believe in superstitions. Maybe because I grew up listening to them so i somehow believe in them.
For example, I am very much scared to look into a broken mirror. And even if I do, I get scared and worried the whole day. I feel breaking a mirror is as bad too. I have broken glasses and nothing has happened but still I am scared.

It is all about blind faiths and mis beliefs which many people around the world belive in. It is all about myths, traditions cultures and peoples beliefs as they find it good or bad. But the list is unending, you cannot label a person to be superstitious but call him taking to false beliefs when he takes to unscientific approach to the life.

I am. Even though I consider myself very logical and practical in addition to being a committed Christian. When I golf, I won't mark my ball with a coin that has certain years on it (like with the last 2 digits of the year being a score I wouldn't want to shoot).

There are some others that I do that I'm wanting to stop worrying about because my brain tells me that it doesn't matter, but I feel like there's some kind of legitimacy to it. I don't want to, and it isn't really an intense thing with me, but I guess I'm a little superstitious sometimes.

I must admit that though believing in superstition is against my religious practice, i sometimes would believe in some of it. Most of the beliefs were passed on by our old folks to us maybe that is the reason why we find it hard to break from our practice.Funny thing is, somehow, it creates effect when you believe in superstition.

No,im not superstitious at all..The only thing I sometimes do is touch wood (or my head) when using the corresponding expression, which is almost reflex action.I believe, though, that the mind can be extremely powerful and tricky and that we can, subconsciously or not.make things happen with our thoughts

Being superstitious cannot make you stay in your own opinion and think wisely as other could. They also cannot think abroad and only could think for a certain reason which is almost unacceptable. I am not a superstitious at all and i believe science more than this kind of matters, science gives you a logic explanation why and how the thing occurs but being superstitious makes you only to believe your older people thinking and is hard for you to change it .

I am not superstitiuos very much but our tradition ,culture , rites and rituals does carry some importance for me. We should not be extreme superstitious so that we cannot move to the new generation and fall far far behind.

The fact is that I don't believe in superstitions. But many people have blind faith in superstitions. This is perhaps due to the concept of race memory. The most imortant thing in life is to have faith in God rather than superstitions.

I do have some but that's come from my grand, grand fathers beliefs.
One of which is, they say if sky turn orange when coming to sunset at the afternoon, they say that could be typhoon incoming or any bad things to be occurred in the community.
Their so many beliefs but some of them don't have any logic proof.

Superstitions cannot be always be dismissed as something stupid. Some do have strong scientific basis dating back to ancient times.

For example, some cultures forbid the plucking of flowers or leaves or fruits from a plant or tree after sunset. That is because plants and trees exhale CO2 or Carbon Dioxide at night which can be harmful to a human. Also, plants or trees host sleeping insects and reptiles which might feel threatened and attack a person plucking a leaf, flower or fruit.

In another cultures, sleeping with your head towards the North or South is avoided. That is because sleeping in such a posture can affect the polarity of human blood and brain cells, which also have a positive or negative or neutral electronic charge.

I am not superstitious in nature but I do respect people who believe something that has no meaning and illogical. Of course, even if I don't literally believe on those things, I do some because it is out of tradition and culture in my country.

I am not superstitious but I would avoid walking under a ladder because something, (or the ladder) could fall on me. I do agree that people who do not have a strong faith are more superstitious than those who do.

I don't believe in this superstitious beliefs. they're just been so old practices that our grandparents can't explain and some just happen in coincidences and can also be explained with a little amount of common sense.

I would say before yes but now I omitted it already in my lifestyle. I am more now closer to God why believe in superstitions? I rest my life to Him. It is just a matter of Faith to God.
