Assisted suicide (Debate)

Should assisted suicide be allowed? basically do you think people should be able to contact officials and really just kill them selves because they want to.

I personally think this would be a horrid idea. People killing them selves is something that "would" be regretted later if it happened. It seams always that when you are in the worst situations it everything turns around. Lastly it seems as if always we are trying to get soldiers out of the war and stop violence, so why would the world allow people to just go off and kill themselves for no reason its not like they got killed in battle.

This is a very controversial topic. I strongly agree with this.

Suicide is a pussy way out of life. Hate to be rude but it means the person can't stick up for themselves and no self confidence. I know most people who commit suicide have issues bit still. Great topic to bro. I'd love to debate on this one.

I think it should be allowed. It is their life, and having someone use drugs to kill you would be much less painful than a gunshot.

Still it may be there life but it there should not be a option to just ruin it. Think about it people have family and friends and killing yourself just because your not doing the best in life ruins others lives. Its just a inconsiderate and stupid way to live the rest of your life.

It is their life, their choice.

IF they really want to end their life they will do it themselves anyway.
Assisted suicide would really help the family, would let them know what is happening and to expect it.

Ehh I really don't think that would help the family at all. I think it would put the whole families lives into shambles. And I think if there was the option of assisted suicide people would probably choose it over doing it them selves.

Personally, I would like to know if someone in my family is going to die. I could spend as much time with them as possible. I could also try to get them to change their mind and get help. If they were to have to do it themselves it would be done when they thought it was good, no warning, no time to change their mind.

Good point on the "If they were to have to do it themselves it would be done when they thought it was good, no warning, no time to change their mind." I really think that is one of the only good reasons for assisted suicide. But even if they were to do it themselves the reason they are going to do it usually does not make sense or it is over silly things showing that the person may need help with not only not going to kill themselves but maybe anger management or a trusted person to talk to for help.

It might be their life but it breaks the rules of human rights I think as well.

No one mentioned the fact people want this because of diseases where the human life is devalued completely? When you can not speak and interact with your family, where you can't do anything for yourself. You sit down all day, doing nothing, but completely aware of all the sadness, despair and anguish your family is going through.

That's why assisted suicide should be allowed.

That person can inspire many people and try their hardest to keep themselves alive and their family members. That's why it shouldn't be allowed

Exactly, how would you feel if a close friend just died? Crayo for instance if Spaz decided just to commit assisted suicide how would you feel? I know you would be pretty upset because you have known him for a while. Think about it all the memories, the blasting of the song "cocaine" late at night.
IT WOULD TANTALIZE YOU!

That's rather moronic. You would want your Nan (grandma) for example to live a miserable, depression, sole destroying life of watching your family members lose their life to serve yours just to inspire them? That's really weird of you to say that.

Completely utterly different. Spaz hasn't got a terminal illness which destroys every single pleasure of life. I don't agree with assisted suicide to random guys who hate life, I'm talking about terminal illnesses only.

OK I agree with the assisted suicide of terminal illnesses, but if it ever did become legal there would have to be a strict number of illnesses that could use the assisted suicide method of death.

Obviously. If this was going to get introduced you would have to past some sort of test, and have proof that the man/woman wants to die. If she physically can't say that then she won't be able to unfortunately. So it's all about timing. It should definitely be introduced.

Assist suicide is still bad either way. The doctor or whoever helped with the suicide is pretty much killing that person. It's more of the doctors fault then the person commiting suicide due to he has the chance to stop him/her but instead, he helps them.

I'm sorry, I really shouldn't.

You are fucking retarded.

You can't help a Terminal Illness, it is deadly. If they could help them they fucking wouldn't even be in the situation to decide.

It's either die and be able to say bye to your family, or live and not. The Doctors see way worse things...

It's more peaceful than it is sad.

I believe it shouldn't be allowed for the simple reason that even though you may be suffering or have a depression related ailment; if you give it time things will get better. I myself was in quite a pit a few months ago and thanks to support from my friends, family, and my girlfriend; things got a lot better.
