Yes this has been suggested before but now seeing as the bans.php page is being reconstructed I think it'd be a good idea to see if this can be implemented. I mean there's a tonne of spare room on the right hand side of the users name/avatar and whatnot, why not utilize that room?

I know the bans.php page is simple and easy but this is like icing on the cake.

Everyone likes to snoop why someone is banned, right?

What did I say at the very start of my thread?

I gave a different overview as to why + I was the first user to suggest this probably over a year ago.
doesn't really matter was just saying
plus it probably won't be implemented anyways but i'd like to see it

This has been suggested before, as you stated, and it hasn't made an appearance yet.
Hopefully it does now though, it's an amazing suggestion and should definitely be implemented!
I like snooping bans.php but it would be easier to just view a users profile and see their ban reason.

It was here for a short time when the new theme came out.

This has been added for some time now. It's under the Misc tab on profiles.

Pretty sure it was default in 1.8 anyway so it's hidden so people can't see it

It is already added, but only moderators and up can view it.

If this is the case, it should be edited and for all members.  Doesn't hurt anything.

I suggested this before, and regular users should definitely be able to see it, doesn't hurt.

What is the point?

You can obviously already tell why a user is banned, just go to their profile logs, we can't.
