I love basketball. I also love the history of the game. Some people hate it but i never see the reason why.

If you guys can pick a starting 5 (Dream Team) who would you pick?

My Opinion:

C - Shaquille O'neal
PF - Tim Duncan
SF - Karl Malone
SG - Kobe Bryant/Michael Jordan
PG - Magic Johnson

See the thing is, Mine would be the same, except Lebron James, Kobe/Jordan, Magic Johnson/Iverson, and Shaq. Thats the best you can get :p

Unless you're speaking of choosing a starting 5 based on there prime;
Which I assume you are, I'm going to have to say.

C - Dwight Howard
PF - Dirk Nowitzski
SF - Andre Igudala
SG - Ray Allen
PG - Rajon Rondo

I picked a newer generation of players, I'm not too fond of the old school.
I'd say this team would work much better than your choice.
Your experience is greater but I think the skill is here in my team.

@marine - No offence, I think you simply posted to gain a post count
and know nothing relevant to the topic.

Back @ Communication; Actually no, I was just lazy and didn't feel like doing a 100 word essay. Here, this better; C - Wilt Chamberlain PF - Carl Malone Sf -Lebron James SG - Jordan PG -Bryon Scott

I am a older generic person, I know lots about basketball, infact I have a few autographs too. That line-up would destroy any lineup put on the court, its all in statistics. Before you judge me, please ask yourself this " Is it worth being corrected, or am I just trying to fight a non-fightable fight"

C- Dwight Howard He is simply the best big man in the game.. good in every aspect except free throw shooting in which let's be honest, no one has been good in that plays center..

SF - Kevin Durant Although he is new to the game, no one will ever be able to take it to the hole, fade away or play like him.. He doesn't have bad games because he loses heart late in the game, only because his shots don't fall. (Unlike others such as Lebron)

PF - Tim Duncan Self explanatory.. One of the best players to ever play the position.. His shots always fall, especially when he was in his prime.

SG - Michael Jordan The best to ever play the game in my opinion.. No one could ever put as much heart into the game as he did. One of the main people to change the game into the sport it is today. Dropping 39 points with the flu while having a game winning shot is something I don't see anyone else doing in a very long time.. Most people would say "Oh Lebron will do that soon" Lebron doesn't have the heart to do something of this magnitude, hence why the Cavaliers lost so many close games.

PG - Derrick Rose This was a close call between Rose, Paul, and Wall for me because of the level these guys all play at in the PG perspective of the game. But i went with Rose simply for the fact he still holds alot of potential he hasn't shown. For a new man to the game, it is very rare to see a player carry a team like the Bulls as well as Rose did. He has the potential to dish off with perfect precision, take a shot and drain it over half of the time, or just take it to the hole when the team needs it.

....and that would be my team

That right there was a good preach, Amen to that! Great defining as well.
