Women in beauty contests are treated like specimens in a meat market. Their appearance is the only thing that matters.

If they can conform properly to the artificial standards imposed on them by male voyeurs, they are rewarded. Not for their intelligence, not for their character or virtue - they are judged solely on their physical features. For the chance to wear a crown and the title "Miss" for a year, contestants will go to great lengths to meet the impossible standards of beauty imposed on them. They will virtually starve themselves to fit the "correct" form. They will even go under the knife to augment their breasts and noses and to make their eyes round instead of oval. They will try to package themselves like boxes of cereal or detergent, at the expense of their own inner selves.

The entire process is silly, degrading and false.

i think the one who is in viewer section is the only one enjoying the show.contestants are always on the sufferer end.they have to put on a heavy workout schedule to shape up their body.for them taking care of their own skin and their owl looks is the most hectic job.they have to follow diet chart and can't eat anything by their own wish.so where is enjoyment there?

I like most like the beuty contes in a women....bec of they face how how to give an opinion in question and answer.man and women are joing bec of exposure but the work out is very hard for them.

I guess women enjoy the most about beauty contest. I am fond of Beauty contest if it purely based on outward appearance. It is good to have a talent portion and even answer and question portion couldn't really test of how great they are. Yet, they are only symbols of a particular event. Like the Miss Universe, their duty not only stop at the pageant. There are more duties that put in their shoulder to be an ambassador. The most who has the eagerness for the contest were the girls of course. Because, that's another stage of their life, exposure and more reason behind it.

Beauty contests are an absolute farce. Contests like 'Miss World' claim they are not beauty pageants but personality competitions but check out the videos of the last 10 Miss World finals and you'll realise that the contestants all have rehearsed lines fed by their mentors..they all want the same things and sound similar. After their tenure of a year, these women eventually join movies or go back to modelling. What happened to working for world peace and animal rights?

Nobody even cares about them anymore..men would rather watch swimsuit models online than these 'glamour' pageants.

2. Women definitely enjoys them because they can apply some of the moves and beliefs of the contestants itself.

3. The Audience itself complains about them. Not sure why, maybe the answers are just a bit awkward or their looks or whatsoever.

4. Nah, I don't think so. Well They are Judges, just like that. They are paid. Why they need to be jealous if they are getting paid to judge someone?
