"Just because you believe something, it doesn't make it true"

I find this a highly irritating argument, usually used by atheists against theists. The fact is, your belief does make it true. That's the whole point, that its true to you. Your belief in it is what makes it true! You believe that your college or sixthform hasn't been burned down, so you set out in the morning to get there (you don't literally know that its still standing, you just have good reason to assume its still there, or rather, you have no reason to assume it isn't). You believe that your debit card is on your desk, because you left it there this morning before you left, but how do you know that its actually still there? You dont, you only have good reason to believe its there. These things are rational.

So you believe that there is a God. This belief does not cause an actual distortion in reality (even though I think it can). So you believe there is a God, so as far as you're concerned, from where you're standing, a God exists.

Remember: You can only prove something which you already believe to be true

So now, from this God believing standpoint, you see the wonderful works of nature, and you claim this to be (or believe this to be a work of God) This belief is not irrational. It may be irrational to believe in God in the first place, but once you do, it isn't irrational to see things as works of God etc.

"You cant just believe something into existence"
People come up with all kinds of ridiculous statements like "if I believed that this cup didn't exist, it wouldn't change the fact that the cup still existed" OR "If I believed that there was a horse in this room, it wouldn't change the fact that there was still no horse in this room"
This is because you don't actually believe that the cup doesn't exist!

But Yeah, I think ive already addresed this point.

A faith I think is more irrational. You don't usually have reasons for having faith, its just more of a blind thing. Like someone saying "Have faith that God will bring a miracle" Why should I? If I can't see any reasons to do so.

I have NEVER heard an atheist say that. NEVER! Lol, no, you CAN prove things you already DON'T hold a belief in. It's called science and the scientific method. -.-
