The Internet.

The internet is the most educational tool ever, and the best recreational tool ever. It allows you to communicate with people all over the world and has improved peoples' lives so much.

If not that, antiseptics.

The internet. In just a few seconds, you have infinite access to (almost) every piece of information every human has ever possessed.

Now, if only you had to explain that to someone in the 19th or 20th century.

A house isn't really an invention, and you could argue that a house is just a modification of the design of a hut. Transportation is needlessly vague, as your feet weren't an invention yet they are the most used transportation tool.

Well, I agree that Internet is one if the most important inventions to date. I don't think I'd consider it the most important or greatest though, being that if we hadn't learned the use of electricity it wouldn't even be possible. I think medicines would have to be the greatest invention.

The three most important inventions in today's society are TV, Internet, and phones. It's hard to say which one is the best though.

I would have to say the computer is the best invention even thought you would need internet to be able to do everything a phone and TV can do.

Soon there will be no need for computers since smartphones and consoles are starting to do what a computer does.

I could (and do) live without watching TV, so it's a no-vote for me on it.
While I use the internet almost every day, I'd still have to say it's also a no-vote.
I'll admit, I had to put some thought into this before coming up with this answer - hygiene products. From the simplest of toothbrushes, to the stick of Old Spice deodorant ; from toilet paper to shampoo. Without those things, we'd be surrounded by body odor. Therefore, I think those are the best inventions.

Before anyone replies with "Those things aren't an invention.", check out the definition of invention.

The best invention ever is cars because without those people wouldn't be able to get to work, people wouldn't be able to get medical care quickly, people wouldn't be able to chase their dreams, etc.
