Best Video Converter?

Im just looking for the best free video converter.

Please only recommend software that you have used as there are hundreds of programs out there that are either bogus or just fill you computer with Malware.

It does the job but as soon as I select mp4 conversion is assumes i want in a tiny resolution. Probably the old iPod video res.
So im still on the market for one. That is a free market.

You could just use Sony Vegas to export to the desired format.

@factor I'd prefer to stick to something that isn't going to make me tear my hair out ever time I want to convert something, see my avatar lol, I have no hair anymore.
I'll still take a look when I have a little more time.
