How do you [mages] lvl up?

People do tele'ing a lot, but recently I saw someone say alching.

I wass thinking about using an auto clicker b/c my rsbots doesnt even work
 
go just above edge bank and stand on the south side of the wilderness wall.. and stun a skeleton, inbetween stuns high alch... ive seen this done alot but im not sure if it even works well lol. i mean they have to be doing it for a reason
