have you ever walk out into your garden and looked up at the night sky? have you look out over the diferent constelations? what about the one called Orion?
In the constelation of Orion the is a star called Betelgeuse (the one that marks his right shoulder) and astronomers say it exploded a few billion years ago and yes you can google it and find loads of places that say "it has not yet exploded but it will soon and we will see it like a second sun" well part of that is true becaus we will have a second sun on planet earth for maybe 1 or 2 weeks but Betelgeuse exploded a few billion years ago and caused a supernova (basicly a bg explosion that comes from a dieing star) and this planet is about 140 million light years away so if the quote i took from 1 of the sites i found on google is true then if it exploded this year we would not seen it in our life time becaus as im sure you all know that a light year is the time light takes to get from point A to point B and 1 light year is equal to 1 trillion killometers and the speed of light is about 300,000 km/s (not the sort of speed you get on need for speed unfortunatly
) but enogh math, so saying betelgeuse (okay from now on im gona call it Bety caus im sick of typing it) exploded billions of years ago and that we will see it this year is actualy understandable and all so if you look at Bety you wll see that she is more orange than you avrage star signaling that she was pretty close to exploding when that light was emited so we allready know that she was dead but becaus of the distance and the speed of the light we cauld still see her but sometime this year we will have a second sun and then no more Bety im affraid.
