I feel really stupid for asking this, but I will anyway.
How/Where do I setup a bit coin wallet, and how does Bitcoin currency translate to US currency?
Thanks in advance.

I used Coinbase to set up my BTC wallet because it was fast, easy, and I can view all transactions and keep my BTC on any device of mine. I don't understand BTC at all, other than it is an anonymous currency based on god knows what and it's super expensive. All I know is that 1 BTC is currently sitting around $300. If you're looking to start a wallet I would recommend Coinbase because you don't need to know anything about bitcoin to do it, and you don't have to wait around for things to download like the official Bitcoin app/program thing. I guess it puts you at risk for your bitcoins being compromised but as long as you're secure (as you would be with any other private login) the risk is small. Good luck!

You can get a offline wallet (I recommend Multibit, it's what I use) or a online wallet (I would use Blockchain.info very simple to set up).
And you can use http://preev.com/ to translate btc to usd.

Good luck with BTC my friend

What is the difference between an offline and online wallet?

A online wallet is pretty much just accessible on the website you get your wallet from, while a offline wallet is on your desktop and you can move it to other bitcoin clients with the private key (I believe you can do the same with online wallets as well), plus it's more secure since it is on your PC.
