Black people are 3/5 human: US constitution wtf?

I was listening to Five Live last night and the topic was generally focusing on how ignorant Americans are of foreign cultures. Apparently, the US constitution actually defines black people as 3/5 human, and by voting Obama in this implies that Americans are even ignorant of their own constitution ( voting in a "sub human" ).

Anyway, I was pretty shocked to hear this **** in this day and age. The only thing Google reveals is a clip of Obama on radio but no specific reference:

Do you have the exact part of the constitution that says this?

I learned about this in school, they count as 3/5 of a vote. This was during a time when America was very racist and black people were slaves...

It's the 3/5 Compromise that counted 3 out of every 5 African-Americans as a vote for House of Representatives.

ACTUALLY there is Scientific research that claims that Europeans aren't 100% homosapiens. European homosapiens may have had a period during which they cross-bred with neandrethals. But both homosapiens and neandrethals ARE human species so it makes no sense to claim we aren't fully human. And American Constitution? Who gives a fuck what it says? It was written SO long ago.

This actually does show why the constitution isn't perfect like so many Americans think it is.

As stated above, it's the 3/5th Compromise.

It was written for a reason (for that time period). The southerners felt that the northerners had an unfair advantage in the HoR, as they were in the very dense populated cities (which they did). The HoR was counted based on population. The North felt that slaves should not be counted, but Southerners did.
The president of the time (or one of those important people) came up with the idea of 3/5 Compromise. So that both sides got a compromise of a deal. So the immense amount of slaves in the south, were only counted as 3/5 of the entire population.

And it's not going to be perfect, it was written under a lot of pressure by a couple of radical thinkers, who had to write it in fear of their lives. The fact that it's still intact today and what our country is based of off (one of the most sought after countries to live in) is amazing.

But with the 15-th amendment this was deemed useless, black males were allowed to vote (and eventually everyone). The constitution was ever changing. If something was found wrong, it was replaced (such as science :p)

To say something that was written hundreds of years ago that founded this amazing country is stupid, just go to another country, no one's keeping you here lol

Just so you know, America is not unique in having a constitution ;). The French, Canada, Britain, etc. all have them...

The 3/5ths compromise only dealt with slaves, not free black men.
It was also only referring to the use of African Americans slaves to calculate the amount of representatives and other similar things related to government.

That's not the point he is trying to make with this thread.

I'm saying that the constitution has little to no baring on why people want to move to America. It's mostly due to it being called the "free world" constantly. Lot's of refugees want to move there. It was a response to the post just before mine, should have quoted, sorry.

One of the biggest things that I see in terms of immigration is the symbol that some people think of America as. People see it as something different... something better than what they have in their own country. Is that really so different from anyone anywhere, though?

And your point is...?

If you don't like the american one, go find another one you like. That's what I'm getting at.
