Research in motion challenged Apple on Tuesday by announcing that its blackberry playbook would be sold at the same price as the iPad 2

Design and look is better but not as thin as iPad

Dang so there asking some money for that. :)

For some reason there are lots of things that look and act exactly like the Ipad. So far there is the Apple Ipad, Mon. something, then the blackberry playbook. This will all be interesting with what happened in Japan where they are somewhat made.

I don't think Blackberry will outmatch Apple. Apple's already got its reputation. While it might be interesting to watch how blackberry plans on overtaking apple, it really isn't possible, imo.

Oh yes I agree on that in every way. Apple is big just like Walmart, they open other companies like Target to over take Walmart but its just simply not possible.

Maybe someday it will happen, but out of all the companies I think google has it figured out. They have the worlds most know WWW search engine and now is working on phones and many other things to promote their business. I think that will be the worlds most successful business ever.

The Playbook still can't match the iPad in terms of performance. the battery will most likely be better as RIM has been "bragging" a bit about the battery life. However, in terms of applications, I would still go for the iPad 2 if I'm paying a lot of money.

Also the games which are made available for iPad by game companies
Having a contract to make games with companies like gameloft = win of iPad

btw I wish next iphone will be in same price as in USA because the current iPhone 4 cost 1200 $ in India and only 200 $ in USA because of taxes, 100 % custom duties and other taxes etc :(

Apple was the one which set the tablet trend, so I guess it will be hard for others to take over iPad's position in the niche. But who knows, Blackberry will come up with something unique that iPad doesn't have.
