Camping!

Im going camping on thursday with a buddy of mine, and i've never been before. Any tips?

Depending on it you are going with adults or not. Depends on what kind of tips you would be needing. So once you tell me this I will give you some heads up.

Yeah. First of all make sure you get mosquito repellent. I've found that without it, you'll have a rather unpleasant night. Also, watch out for where you set your camp site. You never know what can be lurking around the corner. Another: Always take some sort of weapon like a gun or knife, just in case.

Well if parents are going they always come prepared so I am sure you wont need much. But I would suggest making a survival pack. Flash light, toilet paper, top ramen, water, lighter or matches, a knife ect.

Also I would contact the parents and ask them what you should bring. than you would know for sure.

Also, If you have your own tent and there isnt going to be alot of people sleeping in it with you like perhaps just alone friends or a girl bring a air mattress. Make sure you bring a pump to air it up also. Maybe a fishing pole if you will be near water.

Also whether you think its going to just be sunny bring rain clothes also. Its better to be prepared than not.

Bring a nice sleeping bag or plenty of blankets.

To rap this massive post I am making up, Remember in the wild there are animals. Its nice to have at least a knife on your side at all times.

Oh yeah, Last but not least make sure you get firewood BEFORE nightfall. And be sure you have enough wood to last the night.
