can you get a hacked gamertag back?

So a while ago I got scammed outta one of my gamertags that was on my main account and I still have it on my xbox and the email is the same but it has 2 step verification on it. Is there any chance on getting it back? The guy is also active on it

Yes, its pretty easy. You can call microsoft and tell them what happened, don't tell them you were scammed because then your breaking the rule of selling in the first place. Let them know that they gained unauthorized access to your account and it should be easily recovered!
