I'm wondering if anyone on FK has really looked into Charles Manson and if they have any opinions on him? I did a project for my School on him as well as countless hours of research on him. My personal view on him is that he is a genius, but I am not one to say if he is insane or not. If you really have done research on him and know some stuff please tell me what you think, I would be really interested to learn about what you have to say.

Well have u actually watched his interviews? Have you seen not only how well spoken he is, but his ideas as well as what he has to say about the current world. It is truly amazing. Did you know this whole "Go Green" movement that was started in this country is because of him? He was the originator of that idea, he was speaking out saying that we need to change the way society is our we are going to kill our planet and ourselves.

Over the years i've been alive i have come to my conclusion of charles manson-
He was never given a fair trial and he NEVER murdered anyone, dispite what you think about his influences on the people that did it. He himself never killed anyone. I think he is pretty smart of the universe... not school smart (and shit that doesnt matter) i like him.

I expected some really tryhard, edgy stuff in this thread, instead got something I can work with. Here's my opinion on Charlie's antics.
He's a truly brilliant, absolutely raw and insane genius, as if you took every manipulative, really dark raw trait humans have and packed it into one person. There will never be a greater thing to live by than "I make the money, man. I roll the nickels. The game is mine. I deal the cards."
He had everything he wanted and nothing to lose. A decent musician, a couple girls and no place to go, but no limits to where. I feel like, he had the potential to do some pretty cool stuff, but misplaced his priorities and goals.

I do agree with you but I don't feel that he ever manipulated these "manson family" members. I feel these members were just in aww of how great this guy was so they began doing things that they thought he wanted. For example I believe it is even during this interview he begins to talk about the murders and he states that the people who killed the actress they asked him what they should do and he simple told them do what you feel is right, and that is what they did. they did what they felt was right not what he felt was right. Also another little side fact but did you know that during his whole trial of when this went down the prison system wouldn't let him cut his hair/shave his beard? And this was because they wanted him to look insane to the public.

I think this man has so much knowledge and he just knows so much that he doesn't know what to do. From a psychology stand point this would be an extremely interesting study.

He most certainly did. He indoctrinated his followers into thinking he was him. I'm doubting you actually did any thorough research since this was a rudimentary fact about the Manson Family. He denies it now, however, his followers attest that he did indeed claim to be him. He led a cult! It's hard to deny he was mentally ill.

Now why would he tell these people to just go out and kill this women and her child? It doesn't make sense, the story just doesn't add up. And yes you are correct about the swastika I apologize for that. But if you go and look at the interviews he never states he hates jews, he states that he looked up to Hitler because of his leadership and such but he never states he hates jews.
