Child's Custody

I woke up this morning looking at my baby. I may not have a husband and my son may not have a father he can call his very own but I am happy with my son alone. Just few hours ago, I received an email from his father that he wanted to get his son. I was so angry that I couldn't stop myself from cussing words against him. What should I do? He never supported a single cent to sustain my son's needs. He never acted as a father. Should I give him his son? If you were in my situation, what should you do?

no u should not give your son to his father coz he will never treat him good and about money what have he done for the sake of you and your baby instead he left you well you raised the baby yourself afterall he is your child and you can file a case against it.

Almost everytime in almost every Judicial system, the mother gets the custody of her child, unless the mother is financially, mentally, or physically incapable of providing a good life to the child. Otherwise, the father is required by law to provide adequate financial support (based on his income) to his child, even if he does not have custody of the child.

You can always have your son or stayed under your custody.
The truth that his father never supported him is a good example that he is not a good father and is not responsible to be one.
You can always fight for your son's custody providing that you can provide all proofs of his father's irresponsibility.

I feel sorry for you mate but I am also proud to know there are strong people like you. It's not easy to be a single parent and as I read how you tell your story I know that you are doing everything to raise your child. About your concern, I don't think he has the right to get your son's custody just like that. If it won't get you into too much trouble I suggest file a legal case about it. I just hope your ex husband would be more understanding and sensible about it, most of all I hope he is not so insensitive to just decide on such matters without even considering your feelings and right as a mother to your child.God bless and I know you can do it!Take care.

No way, you should give him your son, as so far he left the baby at the mercy of God! What is the guarantee that he will keep him happy in future! And most important thing is no body can take care of a baby like the mother, this is universal truth and so I wouldn't have given the baby to him I were in your shoes! All the best! God bless!

Hello Anj! are you a filipino? If yes. I believe that at the age that the child cannot yet decide the custody of it will be automatically to the mother. Now if he can already decide and already in the right age your son can choose to whom he will be.

It will be quite prudent and wise not to give your son's custody to his father as he has been indifferent and careless to help him financially. It seems that he won't be able to foster him properly.

When a child is below 7 years of age, the mother has the right to have custody. When the child is more than 7 years old, it is the child who will select to whom she/he will want to be with.

when he was out of the picture till now than how come he is peeping up now?ask him to stay out of this.if he wants he can come over to see him sometime but definitely not take him with himself.when you were needing him to support you and your child,he was somewhere else enjoying and running away from his responsibilities.if he insists, you can file a case against him.

Is that a legal settlement about the custody of your child with you and permission of court to let him come and meet him with your son? If yes then you shall have to share the possession, but otherwise you can challenge him in a court of law and can refuse any such meetings.
