Christianity Is Not True Monotheism

Why is Christianity labeled as monotheism? I believe this is a false label. Christianity should truly be labeled as monistic-polytheism, better known as polytheism.

The idea of the trinity is that there is the father, the son, and the holy spirit, and that these are all part of the one god. All three are different persons or incarnations of god. They are all god, but they are not each other. This reminds me of a religion called Hinduism. In Hinduism, they believe in many gods; Vishnu, Brahma, Shiva, Shakti, etc. Yet, they also believe that these many gods, there are millions, are all incarnations of the great truth, Brahman. The difference is that Hinduism is labeled as polytheism, whereas Christianity is labeled as monotheism.

There are also many icons that are prayed to such as Mary or the angels or the saints. They hold divine properties; love, mercy, omniscience. People pray to them when they are in need of certain things. Christians pray to Saint Anne for strength and forgiveness; Hindus pray to Indra when in need of rain. These should also be considered gods, because they hold the same purpose as the gods do in Hinduism; the one great truth, or "God" in Christianity's case.

So, why is Christianity considered monotheistic, when indeed it is basic monistic-polytheism. Does this not make sense to any one else?

Its monotheistic because they believe in ONE TRUE GOD with rule over all. all the other figures are important but not necessarily worshiped.

Yes, you do. You believe they are both divine incarnations of God. Therefore, they are deities.

Lol idk where you read that. They're one if you don't understand that you don't understand much . We worship god (one) so regardless of what you say it's still monotheistic . No Christian worships Jesus or the Holy Spirit .

You're playing on the word "worship." If they are considered divine in your religion, then they are divine. There is no objection to that. Every Christian worships Jesus, otherwise they wouldn't ask him for forgiveness of sins, give thanks to him, pray to him, etc.

It's basic knowledge of a Christian to know you go through Jesus to get to god. If you don't believe or understand fully that's on you . But don't attempt to tell me what I believe and how it works. You're a outsider looking in so you won't understand

I'm not an outsider. I was a practicing Catholic from birth. I was probably more devoted than you. My decision to become an atheist was based around all of my knowledge of Christianity, which was and is vast. Don't try to discredit me based on the fact that I am an atheist.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahah. OMG. I know you did not just say being catholic was the same thing as Christian ?! Lol just stop, because they aren't . Your beliefs are totally different then Christians . Only people who have no serious biblical knowledge call Catholics and Christians the same . (IE. Public schools)

Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. They have the same bible, worship the same god, etc. I bet I have more biblical knowledge than you, but that's besides the point. I'm not going to bother replying to any more of your posts, because no progress will be made.

Actually, one quick question. What branch of Christianity do you practice?

Yes because we worship pasty face white men who like little boys ( pope ) . And last time I checked our "Men of God" didn't have homosexual tendencies ( catholic priests) . But yea do tell more of our similarities.
FYI : most Catholics think of Jesus as a great teacher not the messiah. You guys worship Mary as well.

I'm not a catholic, first of all. I am an atheist, so your insults mean nothing to me. Being a catholic means that you believe Jesus is the divine savior, here to wash away the sins of the world. You don't understand the basic meaning of "Catholic." Christianity is a belief, not a religion. It is the belief in Jesus Christ. Catholicism is a practicing religion that follows this ideology. I suggest that you do some research before you try and make another point.

Please don't classify me as a Catholic, because I have stated many times that I am not.

Where exactly do you go to worship?

Religion in it's entirety has done so much more bad than good. Now it's became such a social norm that you're looked at almost as being evil in sense. I live my life perfectly happy, morally, and confident as an atheist.

What denomination is that church?

Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit ARE God. It's like shampoo, conditioner, and body soap in that it is all in one. Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit is not a separate God in any way so saying Christianity is polytheistic is ridiculous.

It's a baptist church by law. But in my opinion they lean towards non-denominational
