Famous™ said:Trailor gave so much away, I just saw it then but didn't really live up to my expectations, the way where they always had to show it through their video camera got annoying.
Buddy said:Were you not old enough to watch the Blair Witch Project when it came out, or what? lol The point of having it like that is to emulate the style, and attempt to reach out to an audience that has seen a movie go to an almost cult style. It's not about conforming to the standard plot progressions that most movies share, it's about attempting to forge a slightly unique one.

Personally, I love the camera POV since Cloverfield, never enjoyed the Blair Witch Project.
The movie is epic and character development was done well but could have been improved upon, sadly the site I was streaming off went to shit and ended the movie for me 20 minutes before the end.

The point of using the same camera style is to attempt to bring something different to the film.
Think of every cliche horror movie plot. Think of every comedy movie that goes gags > problem > fight > forgiveness > moral. Think of every built up action plot that somehow ends in the defeat of the villain or antagonist. The movie does share some things with the "normal movie", but I brought up the other movie because it is one that brought new ideas to the table.
