Cleaning up Questions & Suggestions

For those of you that are completely unaware, this subforum is only for questions and suggestions in regards to Forum Korner. [font=Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif]Users, however, are continuously posting threads that have absolutely nothing to do with Forum Korner. There is a perfect explanation for this and users should not be solely blamed for their mistake.[/font]

No where does it state that this subforum is for questions and suggestions in regards to Forum Korner which is a fault in itself, and given the name of the subforum users are frequently asking questions about random things that they may encounter. At this time, moderators are not able to moderate this subforum, nor do we have any Staff members that can do so. @Philly is the only user that can moderate this subforum and he is busy doing other things.

For one, I suggest editing the rules to the following:
1. Please only post questions and suggestions that fall in accordance with Forum Korner.
2. Do not private message administrators, staff members, or moderators about suggestions.
3. Do not suggest that we allow Warez, pornography, hacking, or other black hat activity.
4. Do not post suggestions that have been previously suggested and denied.
Secondly, I would simply like to suggest that we clean up this subforum and get rid of any questions and suggestions that have nothing to do with Forum Korner.

I have compiled a small list of threads that do not belong in this subforums and have only surfed through two pages.



Thirdly, I would like to suggest that a moderator be given the ability to moderate the Questions & Suggestions to keep it maintained more thoroughly and allow users to search for answers to their questions more accurately without encountering a bunch of irrelevant posts.

Wow @Jason, this looks really nice! I agree with the suggestions made here.

Looked through the posts you provided for example and completely agree.

I was actually thinking about making a thread yesterday in regards to posting in correct sections especially this one.

@Jason maybe we can come up with a well deserved sticky thread with such content, especially with sub-forums within the Marketplace.

That's not too bad of an idea. My Introduction to the Marketplace gives a brief description of each Marketplace forum and subforum in effort to minimize wrong forum postings.

Market Korner is another big misunderstood sub-forum. General discussion claims these threads daily.

I'm heading out for an hour or so but if you need some help compiling a thread send me a PM, I'll be glad to give you a hand, @Jason

Such a thread would defeat the purpose of forum and subforum descriptions. Don't get me wrong, it is a good idea, however, more detailed descriptions could eliminate a lot of confusion and also minimize wrong forum posting while giving the forum a more "professional" touch. That's a job only @Philly could do if he deemed it necessary.

Sounds fair enough. I agree it's look a lot better with a more detailed description.

Guess we'll leave that up to the boss.

I think staff should be able to give users their awards that they have earned on the request award thread because Philly is far too busy to do it himself.. :=

That is completely irrelevant to the subject of this thread.

Staff members do, in fact, have the permissions to grant awards, however, we have no Staff members at this time. Moderators do not have access to the acp; therefore, they cannot grant awards. Patience is a virtue.

so will there be a sub-forum for questions and suggestions not evolved round the site? however i completely understand what this current sub-forum is for and won't be posting random stuff but it would be nice to have a general questions and suggestions sub-forum if this were to take place

That is not what I am suggesting. There is no need for a separate subforum for general questions that are unrelated to Forum Korner. There is a forum or subforum for almost any topic in which you may have a question for.

For example: If you have a question in regards to social media websites then utilize the Networking subforum. Perhaps you have a question in accordance with cellphones in which case you could utilize the Tablets & Phones subforum.

If for whatever reason there happens to not be a forum or subforum topic that is related to your question simply use General Discussion.

This subforum has gotten completely out of hand.

[font=Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif]New users come to this subforum looking for potential answers to their questions, instead they are swarmed by an unnecessary amount of threads that do not belong within this subforum. It's such an easy fix.[/font]

Those threads were compiled from only the first page. That is absolutely pathetic and unprofessional if you ask me.

I believe some people make threads related to what you mentioned in the general discussion section.
