There is a million posts every week about domain extensions. I am no expert of course, but I have my own opinions and having been into Internet Marketing for a while I have read a lot of those "threads of doom" about domain extensions.
I'm no expert and I'm here to learn, so if you think I am wrong, please say it so we can all know!
.COM
.com are the best obviously. I have personally noticed that when I own the .com for an exact keyword like www.blackhatworldrocks.com, it gives you quite an edge to rank for the keyword blackhatworld rocks. There was even a competition on here to see who would rank the best on google for the keyword blackhatworld rocks and www.blackhatworldrocks.com won.
It is my opinion and the opinion of most people that the use of more than one "-" looks spammy, and is penalized by google a little bit. So, I think the second best choice would be, either blackhatworld-rocks.com.
I would never use more than one "-". I would rather use theblackhatworldrocks.com than black-hat-world-rocks.com.
.NET and .ORG
I find those are the same, and I will always buy one of these if they are available for my exact keyword. I like them better than using .com with a "-". But the difference is quite slim.
If all .com, .net and .org are taken, I will try them all with one "-". If those are all taken, I will use another word that fits such as thedomain.com, domainblog.com, bestdomain.com, cheapdomain.com, etc.
.INFO
I have never bought a .info, and I will never do unless I planned on doing blog farms or stuff like that. It just doesn't look trustworthy, and I read that google penalize them because they are used a lot for spamming.
Don't buy .info!
Why would you buy one seriously? save $6? wft get a job!

All other TLDs of regions aren't the best I think just by looking at the google serp in general, how often do you see a non .com, org or net in the top 10?
Not very often. I think they are good if you find something that looks good, or that makes sense. like Dave.tv if you have a youtube site, or buycars.ca if you target Canada. I think they are not as good for SEO as .com, net and org.
