Communism, and how I think it could work.

Now, don't start hating on me, going 'OMG A COMMIE KILL HIM BEFORE HE BECOMES HITLER,' because I don't even know if Hitler was a communist.

ANYWAY. I'd first like to make a quick note that I'm not 100% sure if this is communism, so don't yell at me for that either.

Imagine a society where we didn't have money. Where you could just go into a store, and pick up what you wanted! I mean, how awesome would that be? But of course, you have to work to get anything, but we just don't have money.
Society keeps functioning, because everyone's still working, doing their jobs. Wouldn't it be better if we didn't have money? Perhaps there are a few kinks to iron out in this plan, but to me, it seems like a good plan.

Discuss, perhaps?

You have a warped sense of communism. =P

Communism in China was where you used to earn money with the amount depending on the job, however you also were given tickets for bread, cheese etc, that way, when you're at the store, you have to have the money and a ticket in order to buy the item.
That way you were limited on how much you could buy, therefore only reducing China to well to do people and poor people, and no longer this gigantic money gap we have today.
However that had many flaws.

And about going to a store and picking up what you wanted, please expand on that point since there are tons of arguments on this.

It is very much possible however as I said in an earlier post in the other thread, it must be in a very small community. This can work within your family. This can also work within groups of friend and different families. This is already a community. However the amount of families or people in the community which you imagine has to be restricted to a very few and it must have collectivism.
The level of corruption will rise when the community becomes bigger and the system exploited. A community can be bigger in the first generation for those who created a system however it is documented in an example that as it was so big, the next generation ruined the system, most likely because they didn't see the point of it as they were not there to experience the previous state. Here applies "the grass is always greener on the other side" if you can connect the dots.

Problem, there are different types of things that cost more, like different laptops, different types of food, different cars, if we could just pick one, wouldn't we all pick the best kind? Everything would have to be the same eliminating choices and freedom. 'nuff said

Please try to avoid logical fallacies such as this one, the 'Straw man'.
On what grounds are you basing your post on?
Is it what he explained in his thread?
Is it communism?
Is it Soviet under the rule of Stalin?

I followed you til the point in which you explained that "if we could just pick one..". Why would you assume we could just pick one?
Secondly; what is best is a result of an opinion which per se is subjective and cannot hold only one answer. You came to the conclusion that it would eliminate choices and freedom but you never explained what it was.
