With as much technology that is available today, students learn better from a computer than from a teacher. Do you believe this to be true?

for me i don't agree with this. teachers are create to teach. with out teacher there would be no computer..

i certainly disagree with the point made.teachers can never be replaced by computers.teaching is a noble profession.teachers teach us not only by using their brain but also by heart.they are not just meant to give us bookish knowledge but also teach us the true meaning of life.obviously a computer can't do that.so its a straight no no from my side.

I still think teachers shouldn't be replaced by technology. Although technology makes education convenient, not everything is taught by computers. Because computers can't tell you if what you are teaching yourself is right or wrong. Not everything you read or know from the internet is true. It's still has to be validated by teachers, us human beings. Computers are things, they dont feel. What you dont get from the internet are the values that are being taught to the students. And only we humans can teach that.

I disagree. Teachers are better. When there is power interruptions, can the computer still usable? When can have live interactions with our teacher. In computer, all answers are just being fed by humans. Computers also depend on humans.

I disagreed as well, though we can learn through computer school based learning is still the best because of the live interaction between the student and the teacher. Computer, don't understand deeply the needs of the student, it is more output, unlike in classroom learning students can raise question with the teacher and can have a discussion with other students as well. Being a teacher is one of the most honorable profession and can't be replace by technology.

I don't think so. Computers are not alive and therefore won't feel the needs of the students. Nothing can replace real teachers in educating the children.

Computers can't Sympathize to the students that has great problems and they can't nurture and grow students. Teachers shouldn't be replaced.

I won't agree with you, computers can't replace teachers but teachers can teach with the help of computers..It is a fact that we get knowledge about everything through internet but teaching is not only knowledge that involves caring and moral tips..

Well i think that computers will be able to one day replace many things. As of now, I dont think technology is good enough for computers to replace teachers. However it may be a possibility later on down the road.

Oh no. I don't think we can stand being on the computer from grade school to college. Computer is very efficient in propagation of information but I seriously wouldn't like the idea of it replacing the teacher for it. We still need them. After all teachers are not just there for academic information. They are our moral guides too and the bonus part is that they have concern towards the welfare their students.

I have to jump in on this one. I don't necessarily think that computers should replace teachers, but I do believe that people should have a choice whether they want to learn with a computer. I think kids will always need some form of guidance, but I do believe the traditional classroom is not the right setting for all kids. I personally plan to homeschool my little one, until and unless he decides he wants to attend traditional school. But in this way, I will be acting as his teacher moreso than a computer. So with kids, guidance is essential. But by college age, there should definitely be a choice.

I also disagree! It is still a different if teachers are the ones who teach, they can explain well and can answer questions quickly. Computer should just be an aid in teaching, but it can never replace the position as a teacher.

No way! Teachers are much better.

You can also laugh and socialize with your teacher. You can't do that with a computer. Well, only nerds can do that. They'll laugh by looking at the mouse move around on the screen. :|
