Contests and Events

I have a couple suggestions regarding some contests or events we could have run by the staff team just to get the forums more active and give the staff themselves an more enjoyable roll apart from everyday answering questions and moderating all day.

Contests
- Most unique avatar
- Others

Events
- Signature of The Month
- Member of The Month
- Thread of the Month
- Most active
- Most posts

You could create a new section called Contests and Events just to reduce the amount of threads people may create on other sections.
The above are just a couple ideas I got off the top of my head. I'm sure we could think of plenty more. Also some of these contests or events COULD have a possibility of winning a prize IF an staff or whomever decides they want to give something away.

I've thought about this, but in the end I just don't think we have a large enough user base for enough contestants.

You could run small events like Signature of The Month. Things like this will encourage people to not only invite their friends maybe, but participate in the events themselves thus making the forums more active.

I like the SOTM idea, but you know, that's a little too long. That means there will only be 12 of them a year, which is too little.

So maybe it could be SOTW, but instead of holding it every week, you could just hold it every other week.

SOTW on my other graphics forum worked very well.

So yeah, I hope we can get something going on in the graphics section.

Great suggestion HuntedCow. Signature of The Week is a really good idea and I would really love to see this happen. Doesn't take much to hold an event like this either.
