These seem great for texturing things in the background if their opacity is lowered or they are blended on.

No prob Yep the dark ones work pretty well for backgrounds even just left on their own at 100% for you to work over the top of. Also good for adding texture to the face of some text. I used em for a motorcycle website I did once they added the right kind of thing I was going for.
