Hello,
(hope this is in the good section to ask this:victoire:)

well i think many people noticed whe can't enter HF
so i was a little talking with some people about it
and he told me
HF is been DDoSed?? i was like *yeah sure*:confused:

My question is do anybody know more about this??

It hasn't been ddosed, there's just too many guests viewing the forums.

(Or is it? o_O)
 
it wouldn't surprise me, its been ddosed before by some skids, so I wouldn't doubt it.

Omni's gotten good at ddos protection, the site is still up, but the error:

    1203 - User hfdbuser already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections

I think omni limited the amount of guests browsing the forums, could be some kid sending his bots there.
 
how dont think it was overload of members...
 
That error occurs globally, for when 12,000 connections are open (an obvious attack)
It refuses to load pages as a safety percaution so that his server (possibly shared rack) doesn't hit 100% usage/cpu.

His firewall is worth about $500/700
 
yeah cuz why would he lower the connections down
when he know he lose members then?

HF is back online for me as of now.
EDIT: its gone again.
 
Not sure. I have a $230 (XLGuard) firewall, and round robin.
I can fight off the attack, and constantly change my nameservers IP until they give up.

Sometimes is up for me but after i clicked an link to an Thread or something like that
i got the MyBB error

Any site goes down depending on how much bots they have. They could hit your hoster.
 
I'll probably rage. Although, you see it's only down because Omni isn't awake. He could fix it simply, it's just a few commands away.

I don't think it's getting DDoSed almost EVERY morning from like 8-10 or 11 its like this.
 
456 users active in the past 5 minutes (61 members, 5 of whom are invisible, and 394 guests).

I guess it's being DDoSed?

This happened to me for a couple of times. I even took a screen-shot of the Online Users as there were only thirty or more. It was such a strange view for Hack Forums.
 
Actually, it isn't a ddos. Omni has already stressed about that hardware failure from the datacenter.
