Death Penalty?

Okay so this is a good topic in my opinion.

Do you guys think that the death penalty should be legalized in every state?

Well I think that it should to a limit. I mean if you rape a girl or something like that, you should not have to die, but spend tons of time in prison. Now if you take someone else's life, then yeah, I think that is just wrong and not right whatsoever.

The death penalty should be legal, but to a extent, it should be very limited to the people who just do the nastiest things imaginable. Like the boston bombing, up to those limits.

What do you guys think?

I think the death penalty is easier than life in prison for people. It's like suicide, just makes things easier temporarily. Why end their lives, when they can suffer in a prison until they are dead?

It should be legalized. I think that some of these people that do bombings and shoot-up schools and shit should just get a bullet to the temple. They don't deserve to live. Why WASTE space and money on them? Just fucking wipe them out the way they wipe out others, and then wait for the next idiot.

@Prepare true, tax paying money goes into feeding prisoners and funding their electricity and what not, its just stupid. I am sick of hearing school shootings and what not. Kudos to you.

But how is that punishment for what they did?

@Mojo how is it not? They would go straight to hell, or just die. I mean some crimes should not be death penalty. But shooting innocent children and people, thats just crazy.

Well in most cases like homicides or murder, that is where I would say yeah, kill the bastard. But for things like child molestation, rape, class A felonies, arson etc, then life in prison would be where the line draws for me. But shit, people murder children and get 3 years sentences, and you get pulled over for two grams of weed and you serve 5 years, community service charges, paying bail out the ass. I mean how realistic can this be? People murder each other and get maybe 3 years, and pigs pull over a teenager for his seatbelt off and slap him on the wrists and give him like 10 years. I think the whole judicial side of our country is so whacked out of proportion.

Well for one, that just ends their life. No more pain, no more suffering for them. I mean, what would you think is worse? Dying in a prison cell at 90, or getting shot in the head? Getting the death penalty would be painless.

Why should we continue to house and feed these murderers? It costs us money to do that. Why should we have to pay to keep these idiots alive? They're sitting in their cells breathing, receiving local, national and sometimes worldwide attention, being fed, and living. While the people that were victims in his/her's attack are dead or hospitalized. Not only does that person suffer, but those people have families who loved them and are now mourning over the death/injury caused by one person. On top of that they're basically paying to house the person that killed their loved one(s).

That is right. And you can't sue them neither because once they end up in jail, they lose all their valuables to the bank. So therefore, it's a lose-lose situation for the victims or the family of the victims.

Tell me @Mojo, would you stare into the face of the man/woman who kills your very own child and allow them to stay alive for the rest of his/her life for what they have done?

I actually had to do a paper on this based on a book we read. I believe its wrong because when someone does something so wrong that they are only offered the death penalty then you are just putting them out of their misery. If someone does something so wrong they should Pay for it and have to suffer with the decisions that they made. Its theyre fault. They had the option to NOT do it. So they should deal with the concequences.

It is because we are not monsters. We are essentially no worse than them if we kill them.

"I'm against the death penalty not because I see the good in the hearts of killers, but because I see the killers in the hearts of the good."

Eye for an eye legislation does not work.

I would rather have the death rather then to sit in a cell knowing im not getting out i do think it should be legal but i also feel that it should be the prisoners choice to spend life in prison with little to nothing or death but only if they did the worse of the worse crimes.

yes, death penalty can be legalized but with some extent, must depend on severity, and justice must be serve to its maximum tolerance.
