[DENIED] Solution for LQP?

I know this has been suggested but I want an open discussion about it since everyone is crying over people being LQ and everything.

So my question is; do you think a chat box would lower some of the LQP?

My answer - I say yes it would as people can go there and just chat about anything and post random shit. Like I know right now I have the urge to tell someone I am downloading the movie Thor and I'm excited but yet I know if I make a thread, it'll be LQ and probably get flamed or something.

I hate chatboxes. They take away posting from the forum, and would not solve our problem. They would just kill the forum's activity. Chatboxes are good for websites, not forums. The point is to post, is it not? If you want to be LQ use MSN or Skype...

I think the rules need to be better enforced. That solves all the problems.

Not really, I still see forums that are really active and still have chatboxes. And like I said, people don't want to share their information like that and it's not like a group thing as a chatbox would be ya know?

@"Amped-", if they don't want to share their IM, they can Skype, use Runescape, Facebook, Twitter, I don't care. Just keep LQ off the forum..

...those are basically sharing IM's / information like some people don't want to share. And everyone can't see what you want to say unless you copy / paste it to everyone which is freakin stupid.

Not really. Same rules still apply like no flaming etc, and you can moderate them. It's also easy for quick help and everything.

It's not low quality to make a thread about downloading Thor.
I think a chatbox would be bad, because it's easier to flame people and spread malware. Though, it would bring away some off topic posts. I am neutral in this suggestion.

Well in my eyes it'd be LQ, kinda sorta eh maybe so maybe not. I don't know but just making a thread about a movie is EHHHHH.
For me I'd just like a chatbox so I can be like GUYS IM ABOUT TO WATCH THOR.
I can't really make a thread like that.

EDIT: orrr I can just make threads like this and now everyone knows I'm going to watch Thor LOL

Not very much. Think about it; what would make someone want to post in the chatbox rather than make a thread? It wouldn't change much in my opinion.

If it was during the posting contest and you made that thread, it would be considered LQP by most people. But since there is no contest I don't see why that would be considered LQ.

Well I guess this situation is based off of peoples opinions. My opinion, is that people would want to post in the chatbox something that can't necessarily be posted in a thread. Ya know such as images, what they are doing atm, and just excitement. As I said "So my question is; do you think a chat box would lower some of the LQP?"

Some, sure. But not all of it. But the reason I'm not in favour of it is because for the amount of LQ it will relieve the forum of, it's not worth the effort of implementing a chatbox.
