Rune Gear has been a little less active in the past months, Old members leaving, New members arriving, but why not move the forum to a more retro gaming 'stage'. Get rid of RuneScape, or at least not focus Rune Gear on it. Attract new members that don't come for the dumps or whatever, but for the actual community and site spirit.

Obviously, changing to a more mw3, arma 2, minecraft main site would possibly require a name change, but that would come later.

Anyone agree to a certain extent?

Then we must change the forum name. Then the old members who decide to come back for a visit would be confused. That's not good. We could definately try to be more active on the gaming forums, but I don't support changing completely away from RuneScape.

This is only the.. 8th or 9th thread youve posted about this (probably an exaggeration.. ) but seriously. youve mentioned this how many times? I know that if this site turned away from runescape completely, we'd lose more members than we'd gain.

Give up on RuneScape? The forum started because of RuneScape, and everyone here, at least most, came here because of RuneScape. Why would it be removed anyways, if it is removed it would just bring less people to the forum...

Are you retarded? You didn't even read my thread obviously. I said take away more of the RuneScape aspect, and replace it with more modern gaming.

This is not a RuneScape forum. This is not a gaming forum. This forum has the most tight nit community that I have ever seen. Deathcrow is the ONLY new member to break through all the barriers we put up in the last couple of months. Sure, we get new members everyday but if they do anything we disapprove of they immediately get flamed and end up leaving. The problem isn't the discussion topics. The problem is the community. We refuse to open up to anyone new.

The forum is a community forum, if you were trying to make it more active as you so say why don't you post in the other forums provided under gaming? THe sections are there. There would be so much lost if we changed the domain, I can't even start to imagine.

It'd be like we are starting a brand new forum, just with that 400k posts.

I dont play runescape anymore, nor do I plan to really return to it. I have some fond memories of the game, but i'm not willing to put more time into it anymore, plus its way too repetitive.

I understand what your saying. He's not saying take runescape out of the forum, NOR is he saying to give up runescape, he's just thinking of changing the theme. Honestly, he's right on this. There aren't enough runescape players out there that would be attracted to a small forum like this one.

While I think he's right on this subject, I don't think it would help the forum very much. It's hard to actually become a popular forum. And even if you did change the theme of the website, what would you change it to? What kind of people do you want on the forum? For example, if you change it to a Call of Duty themed forum, you'd probably just get a bunch of faggots who think they're the best. It wouldn't even be close to the same community that it is now. Sure, this community isn't 'popular' or 'big', but hell, this small community is better than most shit community's out there.

If you would like it more active, you could start by recruiting your friends or just people you talk to. It isn't hard. I think I have proven this.

Also, just because a person states a fact (and everyone else points out the same fact) it doesn't mean they are crying. If this was the case, then me saying that slack3r is awesome (and everyone else agreeing with this) would mean that I am crying.

Nor do I. By "they came because of RuneScape" could have been for 'hacking' in RS, botting in RS, etc.

No, but we definately need to be nicer to new people here. Like it's really welcoming on the introduction thread and stuff, but once they start posting it's like we're watching their every step and destroying them if they mess up. I think we need to be less judgemental to new people, then they wouldn't care whether we play RS or not.

@OP my god your stupidity frustrates me.

there has been a focus on making the site appropriate for other games, and even another forum set up for LOL

i noticed you did at least pick up on the name of the site and the issue it would be associated with the name & removing the rune scape sections.

However to change the name of the forum is impractical and can interfere in some web marketing that could be in place.

i needn't tell you of coarse that the success thus far is because of its associations with runescape and runescape hacking.

i could go on but i cba..
