Did six million really die?

How would you feel if you discovered that something you have believed to be true your entire life suddenly turns out to be a sham? Everything you thought to be real was a cover up, nothing but a hoax. As unfortunate as it may seem, many individuals do not believe that one of our most renown historical events, The Holocaust, ever took place or at least not as it is described to have taken place to this day. These individuals are called "Holocaust deniers" although they prefer the term "Holocaust revisionists". "Holocaust Denial" is the claim that the extermination of Jews during the Second World War did not occur or did not occur in the manner taught today. Although these narrow-minded human beings might argue that the Holocaust never took place, I strongly believe that the genocide of six million Jews did in fact occur. And, it is in fact, through the course of this text that I will attempt to bring across my point through the use of several arguments.

I assume very few of us have ever seen a Holocaust survivor. This is somewhat due to the fact that you wouldn't be able to distinguish them from a crowd. It's remarkable how they appear to be like any one of us yet on the inside they are far more complex. In response to this opinionated piece of writing, I assume a Holocaust "Revisionist" would argue that their family simply disappeared and that they were held captive in a cell for so many years. Where do all their scars come from? Besides the genocide of 11 million people and having to bear the sight of babies being burned alive, what could possibly have permanently scarred these survivors? If there's one thing that I've learned since I've began my education is that concrete evidence can always be forged but an alibi, never. A personal memory cannot be stolen or altered to benefit anyone else. That is why when we see Holocaust survivors and their horrible scars and health conditions; we have no choice to believe. Horrific stories about their past leave us on the edge of our seat wanting more while asking ourselves: how can this have actually happened? Today, we look around to see a fairly structured and educated civilization where in some cases Holocaust denial is in fact illegal. Countries such as Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France and Germany represent some of the countries that have passed a law against Holocaust denial. Hopefully someday it will be worldwide.

Of course, if the Jews didn't simply disappear they had to have been brought somewhere. During the Holocaust, the Jews were sent to concentration camps. Concentration camps were camps that Jews were forced to go to so they could be tortured or used as cheap labor. Concentration camps were first meant for the Jewish or other slave workers but as early as 1941, some of the camps started being used for killing the Jewish population. The Germans killed them in various disturbing way such as poisonous gas showers and testing medical experiments on them. The Germans gained most of the Jews trust by implementing mandatory showers so that they wouldn't restrain from taking a shower in fear of being intoxicated. To this day, there are still Jewish concentration camps that have not yet been torn down. Auschwitz-Birkenau was the largest concentration camp in Poland. Approximately 3 million Jews had died at Auschwitz.

Out of the 11 million people that were wiped out during The Holocaust, an astonishing 6 million consisted of Jewish families including men, women and children. How do 6 million people go missing with absolutely no explanation? The deniers say there is no direct photographic evidence or documentary evidence of genocide against the Jews. All the photographs and films of dead Jews were from food riots or were simply criminals and the ovens used to incinerate the dead bodies were used to cremate Jews in order to prevent the spreading of diseases. Most Germans and revisionists claim that they did not intentionally kill the Jews and that they were victims of "unfortunate" plagues and malnutrition. They also argue that the poison gas, Zyklon B, was used on German soldiers in WWI and therefore not as any sort of genocidal aid. However, there are numerous types of evidence that in fact confirm that the extermination of 6 million Jews did in fact take place. There is evidence of physical goods that were removed from the prisoners before and after death. Such things included hair, gold teeth, and personal items. There is just as much proof in documentation. The Nazis were very organized in their paperwork. They recorded things such as the supplies and the amount of Ziklon B gas sent in. All over the world there are scholars, researchers and historians that have devoted their lives to studying and re-examining accepted history until it is one hundred percent certain.

Pictures and survivors don't lie. While the Jews were being held in concentration camps, they slowly lost their identities. Their names were replaced by inks inscriptions on each of their arms. They became merely robots having to reply to roll call. There are still to this day Jews that have their "tattoo" which confirms the Holocaust's legitimacy. But once again, people believe what they prefer to believe. In the end, there is no reason to doubt that the Holocaust was a real event.

What's your take on the event? Do you think it happened? Why or why not?

There is just SO much evidence that you would have to be completely ignorant to deny the holocaust ever happened. Survivors, ally soldiers' stories, testimonies from the German officers in the Nuremberg trials, the old concentration camps, and the tons of books written from the survivors of the event. There is just no way a faking of that much evidence was choreographed by any person.

Yes this did happen. The Nazis were masters of propaganda they tricked the German nation into believing that the Jewish people were responsible for their economic troubles and that they were an impure race that did not deserve to live, and when he became the dictator he invaded Poland which is where most of the Jews were located, took over and then WWII began. No one can honestly say that the pictures of dead Jews were from people who were breaking the law therefore they must be punished, the Nazi were very cruel to all Jewish people, even innocent ones. One of the many medical experiments would be to test how long the human body can survive in freezing cold weather ( preparing for invasion of USSR ) they would throw innocent Jews into pools of freezing water and would make them stay there until they got to an intense stage of hypothermia and would then pull them out and test different ways on how to revive them and would not care if they died. However the medical experiments is a iffy topic because people argue that most of the medical advancements in the 1950s came from testing experiments on the Jews. None the less, I do believe the holocaust is a real thing.

I'm almost completely sure that most Germans don't deny the Holocaust. I've spoken with many Germans before and none would deny that the Holocaust happened. And, as you previously said, there's a law against it too.

But that is for present-day Germans, and I'm also pretty sure that you meant Germans during the time-period of concentration camps, rather than Germans post-concentration camps.

I might be wrong but I don't see how my quote had anything to do with this video.

Your quote says that Germans don't deny the Holocaust so I found a video of a German denying the Holocaust.

David Irving is English.

And even if he was German, that's the equivalent of me showing you an American writer that denies the Holocaust and saying that it proves that most Americans deny the Holocaust.

True. My bad.
