In 1923, at the Edgewater Beach Hotel in Chicago, 8 of the world’s wealthiest financiers met. These 8 men controlled more money than the United States government at that time.

They included:

The president of the largest independent steel company;
The president of the largest gas company;
The greatest wheat speculator;
The president of the New York Stock Exchange;
A member of the President’s cabinet;
The greatest “bear” on Wall Street;
The head of the world’s greatest monopoly;
The president of the Bank of International Settlement.

We have to admit that these men had found the secret of earning money.

Now let’s see where these men were 25 years later:

The president of the largest independent steel company, Charles Schwab, lived on borrowed money for five years before he died bankrupt.

The president of North America’s largest gas company, Howard Hopson, went insane.

The greatest wheat speculator, Arthur Cutton, died abroad, insolvent.

The president of the New York Stock Exchange, Richard Whitny, was sent to Sing Sing Penitentiary.

A member of the President’s cabinet, Albert Fall, was pardoned from prison so he could die at home.

The greatest “bear” on Wall Street, Jesse Livermore, died a suicide.

The head of the greatest monopoly, Ivar Krueger, killed himself.

The president of the Bank of International Settlement, Leon Fraser, also died a suicide.

What this story teaches me is that all these men learned well the art of earning money, but none of them had ever learned how to live the “rich life”, which was their birthright...

This is what we call a CASE STUDY!

So stop doing spam.

Where is it written than repeating words is a spam? And by which words do you want I replace the words "presidents" if they are all presidents??? I just listed the position of each person. It's NOT a spam at all!

Well yeah. Having a lot of money doesn't mean happiness. But having low money is not happiness either. You need the right amount of money to live happily.

But where did you get that story from? I am very interested. It sounds pretty cool.

I think that Even if you have tons of money, you can't buy some things that money cannot buy. Also if you lack money, you can't have anything, just enough for your daily survival.

@Dream
It's a nice story, although I didn't heard it. It some sort inspires as well as doubting some things. Well good luck if it's a case study to be passed.

It only implies one thing,that life isnt about money! Rich people have also challenges that cannot be solved by having so much money on their accounts.. They are more important in life than money,and i think one of that is perfect happiness.

I agree that you must copied and pasted it but I didn't take it as a spam. This post is very informative and I personally heard about it the first time. It is a sort of reminder that richness or a lot of money will not really make somebody's life to the fullest. It is the attitude, satisfaction/contentment.Right, that we need money to provide our daily needs but we will not let the money to enslave us. Giving all our time earning and forget to have some rest and have fun with our family. The life of those people were merely example that life is not about "money" at all. I appreciate sharing this lesson to us. God bless.
