Disable Post Count in Giveaways

Pretty simple suggestion, really. I think disabling the post count in the giveaway section would be fair, just like S&T (if that's still in effect?). It's pretty self explanatory, but the giveaway section consists of more spam than S&T. I guess those with 1k posts in there may not agree, but I certainly think this makes sense.

I don't think we should disable post count in the giveaway section, it would discourage a lot of people, me included. Plus, a lot of people that spam in the giveaway section have a warning level, so it's not all that bad.

Why does it matter if they count toward post count? There are threads that ask for 1000 posts, hell, even 10k posts. They're all useless posts. It's just a way for those who want high post count to get it easier. This shouldn't discourage people from participating if they'd like to win.

I wouldn't want to post on a contest thread if my posts didn't count while doing it, I would just pop in at the end and try to win. Posts like that are contests, they aren't pointless.

Now, I agree with you on the part that there's a lot of spam, but staff do take care of that by giving out warnings.

Back to my main point, if post count were disabled in the giveaway section, it would discourage people from posting there at all. And I can see it dying down.

Then I guess we should be reporting all the posts -.-

100% support for this idea. Kids just spam for post count in that section and get a ridiculous post count in a short amount of time.

I disagree with this. Especially since the majority o my posts are in the giveaways section l0l.

Yeah this makes a lot of sense. Maybe it will get rid of those "1000000000 poster wins" threads.

I support this suggestion.
I can admit to spamming a little in the giveaway section, but only for the giveaway itself, and not for post count.
Many fresh users see it as an opportunity to get a quick post count increase.

It annoys the hell out of me people posting giveaways like 1000th poster wins (50$ or a shitty SM)

i think this should be stopped as @Mojo will just win every single one with the powers of spamming he has.

I don't see the point.

Why not disable post-count altogether?

If you don't like posting, then just don't.

It's really not a hard concept.
