It may be sketchy to some people, however I've used Lastpass for over 2 years now, and never had any problems regarding hacked accounts or anything of the sort.

Lastpass has been rated the number one password Manager for years now, and major corporations use them.

However, yes like you said writing down passwords may be the best idea.
