DMT is a pyschedelic compound found all throughout nature, specifically in the plant kingdom. It is also present in some mammals, including we Homosapiens. In fact, DMT is the very chemical that causes you to dream. Think about that for a moment.
Now, outside of its natural presence in nature, DMT is also used in an intensive manner, with the intention of experiencing what only those who have smoked it can explain as "spiritual, multidimensional, enlightening, eye-opening, out of body experience." It is the most intense psychedelic known to man. DMT is not a "drug" to get high off of with your friends, it is a gateway to the other side. Only those who are mentally, emotionally and spiritually prepared should consider doing it. And of course, those who have the drive inside themselves to adventure, explore and experience the aspect of life that is unknown.
If you are familiar with Joe Rogan, he is a HUGE advocate of DMT. He insists that everyone experience it when they are ready. There is too much knowledge to gain. Here is one excerpt of his that I found interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grcqs9cDuN8
Another man worth mentioning is Terence McKenna. He is widely considered as one of the fathers of DMT research. Go watch any video on youtube about him, or read some quotes of his. This stuff is beyong interesting. It will blow your mind.
If you have Netflix, a GREAT documentary on DMT is "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" ...Do yourself a huge favor and watch it.
Now to the point of this thread. I am not alone when I say that there is more to this simple compound than the journey. I think it has a purpose. When you are dying, your brain releases a massive amount of DMT. You can speculate what this means for as long as you'd like. I wonder, how and why it is in our brains in the first place. The fact that it is a natural compound found throughout nature, and again, in our brains..it just makes you think. What is the purpose behind dreaming, the purpose behind life. I think they are connected. When you are in the altered state, in the real world 10 minutes goes by and you're back to normal. But the experience itself can feel like hours, eternity, or undefineable.
This topic is too interesting not to share. I would like to hear your guys' thoughts, ideas and theories. At the very least, I promise you will dig deeper into your mind.. just by listening to others who have had this great experience. Discuss.
Edit: For anyone who doesnt understand, it is also a "drug." It is cooked, similarly to meth, and smoked. I know that sounds terrible. It is very rare though.
