Do children need a cell phone?

Hi there,
Children do not need cell phones anymore than they need an extra nose growing out of the side of their head.
I personally think that when they can pay for one with their own money is when they can have one. There for personally I think mobile phones could be banned in primary schools.
What is your opinion?

I believe that it is for the parents to decide. It depends on the childrens environment. Some may walk home for almost half an hour, therefore a phone might be necessary, some maybe get dropped off and picked up at school, so a no as well.

It completely differs on the factors that the children are subject to.

That depends on if your child is constantly being harped on by their parent, or if the child is more independant.
The only reason I got one is because of sports and late games.

i think that children don't need one unless they go out at nights like some of my mates do, but to be honest kids don't need them untill they are atleast 13. Don't ask me why, but thats when i got my first phone. Thats my opion on that.
