Do I Still Own My House? (HELP)

Hello, I use to live in Cuba and I owned a house. I paid off the entire house and I am the only owner. However, I illegally left Cuba and came to the United States. Keep in mind this happened more than 15 years ago. But I want to know, do I still own the house? Some of my friends currently live there but they don't own it. Does this mean if I go to Cuba do I have the ability to tell them to leave the house along with their belongings? Please, I couldn't find an answer anywhere. Thank you so much.
