Do you know the oldest language of the world?

Well if you dont know then I will explain here. Sanskrit is the Oldest language spoken in the world and mother of all languages. Such as the English word Brother is derived from Sanskrit word Bhrata and Mother= Maatra.

It was first spoken by the Aryans in the Indus Valley Civilization in 2600B.C

Hmm. Well, not sure if there are languages that are not written in the history. There are maybe oldest languages that are not being used today. But of course, the oldest language we considered are the languages that have been stated in the history and prove by giving evidence by historians.

No language is older than another, although some languages were written earlier than others (for example, Sanskrit and Chinese). Some languages spoken today have never been written, they're only passed down from parents to children (like many African languages).

The oldest language was created about 100,000 BC its name has never been defined as we are unsure which of the living languages are its decendant.

The oldest written language probably sumerian or Egyptian wins because they developed a writing system first (both start appearing in about 3200 BC).

If your criteria is that it is a current living language then perhaps tamil, unless you insist that the language was written down then the oldest living language would probably be Chinese.

As you can see the answer is dependant on the bias of the question.

The best answer is that the oldest language is a dead language that was never written down,so we will never know what it sounded like or the thoughts of those who spoke it.

The first language wasn't a human one, animals can talk each other too! First men (that came from apes) were everywhere, so I think there were many languages as today, but many died.

Then I agree with sommerlive, Sanskrit is the "father" of all the Indo-European languages, not of every language.
